2. Vision
The Global Literacy Foundation’s vision for the next five years is to evolve into a premier charitable, humanitarian organization that can boost the quality of literacy and research programs with state, national, and global impact. We hope to position GLF for membership in the elite group of others promoting related programs and similar initiatives.
3. Values
Literacy supports self-improvement, civic duty, charity and more successful lives and improved humanity. Participation + Communication = Literacy!
4. Strategic Activities
Our mission is to help promote Global Literacy in four ways:
1. Collaborate with local and international literacy organizations and institutions that participate with global literacy projects needing technology, curriculum and professional development solutions based upon brain-based solutions (e.g., learning orientation research).
2. Identify open source and best-of-breed educational software (digital curriculum) to support innovation, tools and activities that lead to a successful life in a better world.
3. Help others technically integrate best-of-breed educational hardware that support greater confidence, productivity and achievement.
4. Provide professional development to promote and support a pedagogical shift towards more active learning for students who are immersed in student-centered learning communities.
5. Web Site
Kelley has developed a web site at http://www.globalliteracy.net to promote Global Literacy. We use the site as a portal for

6. Brain Storming
Being on the Board for GLF is going to be both fun and challenging. Why? BECAUSE WE ARE HELPING PEOPLE IN WAYS THAT REALLY MATTER.
How are Board members ready to help?
- Members will find themselves engaged in the kinds of issues that first attracted them to business careers - strategy, innovation, and competition. Global Literacy Foundation is directly in the "sweet spot" of many philanthropic donors. Our distinct offerings provide educational value and mitigate risk of wasting computer resources. Investing in people groups without traditional access to help themselves. GLF will help give them the tools to help themselves. "Developing and teaching people how to Help Themselves is our Goal."
Our deliverables help and empower people "at risk" groups who can't help themselves. Towards reaching Global goals, we want to ultimately globalize our board. We intend to learn from experience / methods of those selected from outside of North America.
